Mr. Hayao Miyazaki (宮崎 駿, born January 5, 1941 in Tokyo, Japan) is a prominent director of many popular animated feature films. He is also the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, an animation studio and production company.

He remained largely unknown to the West, outside of animation communities, until Miramax released his 1997 Princess Mononoke. By that time, his films had already enjoyed both commercial and critical success in Japan and Central Asia. For instance, Princess Mononoke was the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. His later film, Spirited Away, had that distinction as well, and was the first anime film to win an Academy Award. Howl's Moving Castle was also nominated but did not receive the award.

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (崖の上のポニョ) is a 2008 animated film by the Japanese anime studio Studio Ghibli, it is written and directed by famed anime filmmaker Mr. Hayao Miyazaki. It is Miyazaki's ninth film to be made under Ghibli. The plot centers on a goldfish named Ponyo who desperately wants to be a human. In pursuing her goal, she befriends a five-year-old human boy, Sōsuke.

Recently my daughter is willingly checking "Digimon" (デジモン; Dejimon, short for "Digital Monsters" (デジタルモンスター; dejitaru monsuta) which is opened to public by YouTube.
"Digimon" is a popular Japanese series of media and merchandise, including anime, manga, toys, video games, trading card games and other media. Digimon are monsters of various forms living in a "Digital World", a parallel universe that originated from Earth's various communication networks.

Astro Boy (鉄腕アトム, Tetsuwan Atomu, lit. "Mighty Atom") is a Japanese manga series and television program first broadcast in Japan from 1963 to 1966. The story follows the adventures of a robot boy and a selection of other characters along the way.

Astro Boy is the first Japanese television series that embodied the aesthetic that later became familiarized as anime. It originated as a manga in 1952 by Osamu Tezuka, who is often reputed as the "god of manga". After enjoying success abroad, Astro Boy was remade in the 1980s as Shin Tetsuwan Atomu, known as Astroboy in the United States and other Western countries, and again in 2003. In November 2007, he was named Japan's envoy for overseas safety.

Astro Boy is a sci-fi series set in a futuristic world where androids co-exist with humans. Its focus is on the adventures of the titular "Astro Boy" (or simply "Astro"), a powerful robot created by the head of the Ministry of Science Doctor Tenma (dubbed Dr. Boynton in the first series English anime and Professor Balfus in the Canadian dub of the second series) to replace his son Tobio (or Astor Boyton III in the first series English anime, Toby in the remake of the first series English anime). After Tobio died in a car accident, Dr. Tenma built Astro in Tobio's image and treated him as lovingly as if he were the real Tobio, but soon realized that the little android could not fill the void of his lost son, especially since Astro couldn't grow or express human aesthetics (in one set of panels, Astro is shown preferring the mechanical shapes of cubes over the organic shapes of flowers). In the original 1960 edition, Tenma rejected Astro and sold him to a cruel circus owner, Hamegg (also called Caccitore), who abused the performers. In the 1980 edition, Astro naïvely signed himself away to the circus owner.

Crayon Shin-chan (クレヨンしんちゃん, Kureyon Shin-chan) is a Japanese manga and anime series written by Yoshito Usui. It is also known as "Shin-chan" in the United States.
Crayon Shin-chan follows the antics of five-year-old Shinnosuke "Shin" Nohara and his parents, neighbors, and friends and is set in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, Japan.

The anime Crayon Shin-chan has been on TV Asahi since April 13, 1992, and has also been aired by Cartoon Network, the anime television network, Animax across Japan, Hungama TV in India, and in several other countries worldwide.

Many of the jokes in the series stem from Shin-chan's occasionally weird, unnatural and inappropriate use of language, as well as from his inappropriate behavior. Consequently, non-Japanese readers and viewers may find it difficult to understand his jokes.
